We (Will and Lyn) started the vintage caravan movement in Australia with six other couples in our first run to Harvey, Western Australia, ten years ago. There are now over 2,000 members Australia-wide and we have saved thousands of old caravans from the scrap heap.within the group These are a few of the cars and vans we have restored over the last ten years. The 1936 Chevrolet took six years to build and was transformed from an ugly green frog into a prize-winning prince of a car!
We bought the Airstream in New York and fully transformed it. These are an American Icon and it took two years to polish the outside to a mirror shine and restore the interior to a 50s and 60s theme. The caravan is 50 years old.
We bought the RV bus in San Francisco, toured America in it, then brought it home and spent one year rebuilding and repainting the whole bus.
